Dear Mr. Wiedeman:    

This is an answer to your letter dated April 18, 1985.  While time-sharing
systems existed in 1966, only Digital Equipment Corporation was offering 
them as the standard way of using its large computers, and D.E.C. was not among
even the top six companies.  D.E.C. was suitably rewarded, because now it is second.  
IBM didn't really switch for another ten years.
